Mysterious Swan Lake unveiled

swan lake stole draped side closer Here are a few pics of my MS3, completed. Mine is a less-delicate version than many I've seen, with my relatively-sturdy, lofty Shetland laceweight, which means it is warm. no beads for me, as I thought they'd irritate and not go with my yarn, and I'm pleased about that decision too. Looks way better on the boady than on the floor! Quite balanced, whereas near the end of knititng the wing I was rather hating the abrupt transition between the straight part of the stole and the wing.
Looking forward to my next lace project!

Oh, I just love that feather pattern! I've been meaning to knit it for a while, and how I must incorporate it into something.
And...that's a lovely picture of you, Em.

Nice! I was a bit worried about the wing too, after previous photos, but it looks great. I do really like the yarn choice as well.

Someday I will have a chance to do lace again!

This is the first finished photo of this project I've seen. Congratulations - I think it's lovely. If these mystery projects are still around when I retire maybe I'll attempt one then. :) No way would I have been able to keep up the pace.

Wow, it is fab.... the wing really does work if you drape it across like that. I'm about to start clue 3.. so far behind! Are you still convinced that there would be a better way to connect the stole and the wing? I can't see the join on the photos!

The stole looks great in that yarn! I love seeing how it looks in different colours/yarns.

I am now off to find this German mystery knitalong you've mentioned... Not that I need another project, but this mystery was such fun I'm VERY tempted...

I love your finished stole!! The colour and weight are just perfect and besides being beautiful it looks really useful and wearable too!

Thanks Emily. I've joined the German Mystery Stole....and the language does add a whole other element of Mystery to it!!!

I think once I've started the BKC I'll be able to figure out what else I can fit in before Christmas.

It looks great. I too opted for a thicker (and warmer) yarn and no beads. It's very nice and warm, I think.

Wow, it's gorgeous. I'm still only halfway through mine. Love the yarn choice you made. Really stunning.
